God loves unconditionally and selflessly and his creation reflects this. He is spirit and a person, as love can only exist between spirits. There are chemical bonds in matter, but that is not love. In the last episode, we learned that love is the transmission of information. Everything comes from God and returns to him. When God says that he loves Jacob and hates Esau, it means that he loves each person but does not accept the evil that people do from his resources.
The covenant relationship between God and man (Genesis 2:7) is a working relationship. Many people believe that the relationship with God is the main purpose of creation. In fact, it serves to fulfill our responsibility for the earth. God determines the purpose of our existence, man has no choice about his existence or rejection of God's love. Lucifer wanted a choice and aspired to be a god - an illusion that led to darkness and death.
Therefore, it is important to recognize where we can and cannot make choices. False assumptions about our ability to choose lead to death. Also, many Christians mistakenly believe that God must control us, when it is up to us to act. In Genesis 1:29-30 and 2:16-17, God gives man the choice to eat with one exception: he must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, otherwise he would die. Did God give him the choice to die? No! God created us only for good. Adam and Eve did not break the commandment at the tree, but at God's word, which they did not believe. They only went to their deaths through deception and not because they chose death. In the second part of the series “God's love and justice”, we will understand more deeply what this means.
