3 - Life and Death | Uniting Heaven and Earth

Through an inexplicable self-deception, man thinks he is the source himself. In doing so, he separates himself from the true source of love and life – God – and this separation brings death to him and all other living beings. Death is the enemy of life and would have destroyed everything if God had not intervened and begotten a new man in Mary – Jesus Christ. Through him, the separation between God and man is dissolved and life is possible again.

The connection to God lies in the spirit/subconscious and is inherited. Because man deceives himself and is attached to people instead of God, this false “cable” must be removed. Since it is unconscious, many do not recognize this false connection. Suffering reveals the error and offers the chance to recognize false dependence on the consequences, such as illness or addiction. The removal of the error is also made clear through suffering – namely, by enduring the suffering. Jesus says, “Love those who curse you, bless those who hate you.”

The law serves as an objective measure of reality. It is an aid in distinguishing lies from truth. Paul knew about the inner struggle we all face and that it is a matter of inner attitude. That is why he was able to rejoice even though he was actually in prison. He did not have to fight against it. Those who persecute or fight against others are wrong. Do we live the message as convincingly as he did, living selflessly and enduring suffering in order to lead others to Jesus? That and more is the subject of the third part of the series “Uniting Heaven and Earth.”
