Everyone thinks they see things correctly and does not realize that what they perceive is a lie rather than the truth. The lie must be destroyed and make way for the truth. We look at the spirit and its needs and how it compares to that of Jesus, who was bound to God the Father from the moment of conception. We examine how we can recognize the deception of the heart in the mind and gradually replace it with the truth.
It is important to understand God – who He is and what He does. To do this, we look at the glory of God in Exodus 34, starting with verse 6: God is merciful and understands our condition. He has provided a solution in Jesus Christ. Until then, we go through difficulties that show our separation from God. God gives us life through His grace, prevents immediate death, and enables us to come to Him. He has provided salvation. He is patient, gracious, and good. His goodness leads us to repentance.
Those who believe in God should live according to his image. Repentance means putting aside anger, impatience, and unmercifulness and replacing them with kindness, grace, and patience. God remains faithful and has a plan for our lives. He promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). God also forgives iniquity, transgression, and sin.
He does not declare the guilty innocent, that is, those who have not accepted the new life of Jesus. And he visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children. What does that mean? God only visits and brings judgment when there is no other way and no one can recognize their error and be redeemed (as in Sodom and Gomorrah or the Flood). What all this means is the subject of the twelfth part of the series “Exodus.”
