Encourage experimentation

As a CEO, you can specifically encourage experimentation by normalizing failure. Refer to failures as opportunities to gain new insights.

Establish rapid testing. Small, quick pilot projects instead of endless planning phases. Prioritize curiosity over efficiency – at least in the early stages of idea generation.

By giving your employees room to try new things, you create teams that learn faster, optimize step by step, and drive real change.

You can lead by example: reward learning, not just results. Celebrate courageous attempts, create “safe fails,” and share your own learnings.

The goal is not to find the perfect solution right away. Rather, it is about learning as much as possible – and doing so in the shortest possible time. Leadership is therefore not about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions and enabling experimentation.

How do you deal with experimentation in your environment?
