I can tell you: if you want sustainable growth, there's no getting around honest and open feedback. But you have to actively shape it.


I'll show you how you can promote more openness in your team:


1. Be a role model: Regularly ask your team for honest feedback – specific, appreciative, and open. Only when you are open yourself will you encourage others to be open.


2. Make feedback an integral part of your work: Feedback is always part of meetings, 1:1s, or retrospectives. This creates routine and security for everyone.


3. Respond to criticism with appreciation: Feedback is a gift – even when it's critical. Your reaction determines whether the team remains open to criticism and learns from it.
