Nobody cares how much you know

Until they know how much you care.
Many leaders believe that knowledge, strategies, and experience determine the course of action. That's true, of course, but true leadership only comes into play when you show that you are listening, understanding, and genuinely caring for your team.
Only when your employees feel that they are being seen will they open up to your expertise and follow you even in challenging times.
My tips for everyday business life:
Build relationships, ask specific questions about how your people are doing – not just professionally, but also personally. Turn meetings into dialogues instead of monologues. Show appreciation and recognize small progress.
Leadership does not begin with “sharing knowledge” – it begins with caring. True strength as a leader means: caring first, competence follows. How do you integrate caring into your everyday life as a leader – and how do you know that it is working?
